hmm.. summer’s awesome. i love taking advantage of this lovely little couch in front of this lovely little.. or not so littlle… tv. and doing other stuff with friends. so relaxing. i’m catching up with doing nothing.. and doing nothing isn’t what i did in high school. but in contradiction to the fact that tv is bad for brain activity, it actually got me thinking of something.
x-men evolution. harry potter and the order of the phoenix. wanted. those are a couple of the things i’ve seen on tv. they’re really cool to watch. got me saying to myself “man.. i wish i could control the weather with my mind.” or “aww.. i wish i could do some cool magic trick with a long piece of wood.” or “dude.. i wish i could curb a bullet.” but face it. the only time we can ever live those fantasies is in our heads. when we’re daydreaming in class. when we’re imagining ourselves doing some cool trick that our friends can’t do. when we’re wondering how sweet it would be to beat some haters ass single handedly without breaking a sweat.
that’s when i’m caught in a slump. that’s when i say “fuck.. why does life have to be sooo… boring. so uninteresting. so.. bland.” well.. life is boring so get over it hahah.
realize though.. you can’t measure life’s excitement by comparing it to a tv show. it’s really up to you to make life an adventure. you don’t need to know how to read people’s minds, ride a broom, or be an assassin. you can make an adventure out of riding the bus bahahah. i guess it’s all in how you make it out to be.
also.. you shouldn’t wait to make your life an adventure either. you can’t always wait for the “perfect opportunity” to go out there n be daring. if you keep waiting for that “perfect opportunity”, you’ll be waiting for the rest of your life.
i lyk to compare life to an hourglass glued to the table. in a regular hourglass, you can get fallen sand grains back by turning the glass back over. the hourglass of life, however, is glued to the table; you can’t turn it over. once a grain of sand falls, you can never get it back. yes, time is the best healer. but it is also very unforgiving. life will not wait for you, so you should not wait for it.
